Mission Statement

Lismore Community Childcare Centre Limited (LCCCL) is a community based childcare service, created and managed by parents of Lismore. Its purpose is to offer parents/guardians of the Lismore community and it’s environs a safe, caring, interactive and happy facility for their children.

High quality, affordability, diversity and accessibility are at the core of this comprehensive range of services. The objective is to build positive relationships with families, to work effectively with them and their children, to be responsive to their changing needs and to help create a firm foundation for the future.

 

Staff 

Our highly skilled, motivated & caring staff are our most valuable resource. On-going training and development is a must for all our staff to ensure we can provide the best possible care for children entrusted to Scallywags. Our centre has achieved the Siolta Validation level 4 in 2013 and 2018.

Parents

We encourage communication between staff and parents at all times and any issues that parents may be concerned about please don't hesitate to contact your child's room  leader to discuss.  Private meetings can also arranged if parents would prefer through our Centre Manager.  We recognise and respect the contribution of parents with staff at Scallywags as through working together to care and educate your child we will provide the best foundation possible for their future. We also have an 'open door' policy where you can visit your child at any time if you so wish.

Our Facilities

Scallywags is a Registered Charity (RCN: 20063320). Our community facility is purpose-built to provide areas to play, learn, eat, rest and grow.  Our under-flooring heating system and large glass windows provide a healthy, bright, calm space for both children and staff to interact with each other through the process of caring, learning and having fun throughout the day. We are very fortunate to have four outside play areas, including one very large open space which gives the children plenty of scope to run and let off steam.

Security

Rest assured, while your child is entrusted to our care at Scallywags, their safety and security is paramount to us at all times.  No individual enters Scallywags without staff consent and approval.  Children are signed in and out by individuals designated on your child's registration form only.  All our staff are Garda Vetted.  Our staff adhere to a very high level of hygiene to ensure a safe, clean environment for your child to prosper in.

Scallywags is monitored with CCTV cameras for security purposes.

Nutrition

We  provide nutritionally balanced meals freshly prepared and cooked in-house each day by our own cooks.  Our menu choices each week will be clearly posted so parents can choose to review.
